Get your driver's license. Learn the process and what paperwork you need for obtaining a driver's license or a state ID card, listed out by state. The DD code on the front of the new Tennessee license stands for 'document discriminator'. The 16-digit code is just a new security measure added to each driver's license as required by Homeland Security. What that does is identify that card to where and when it was issued.

Online Status Check
All Out-of-Country and US Territories drivers license transactions must be done at the DMV Cranston headquarters. These transactions are not performed at DMV branch locations or AAA branch offices. Online novels for 5th grade. Citizens may be subject to written and/or road tests.
The computerized knowledge exam is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm at the DMV Cranston headquarters. A vision test will be given at this time. These tests are available by reservation only.
The following documents are required for an F1 and F2 Visa:
- I-20
- I-94 (NOTE: An I-94 is no longer needed to be attached to the passport. US Customs and Border Protection are doing it electronically. US Customs and Border Protection have decided there is no need to require the document since it has been determined that the person is allowed to be in the US. More information can be found on www.cbp.gov/I94.)
- Passport
- Social Security Card or a denial letter from the Social Security Administration
- Current Letter from the school/university on letterhead, showing enrollment
- School ID
- Two proofs of residency
International Driving Permits: Although many countries do not recognize United States driver's licenses, most countries accept an International Driving Permit (IDP). An IDP functions as an official translation of a US driver's license into 10 foreign languages. For additional information please visit the US Department of State.
The DMV has begun to issue new style licenses and state identification cards as of Tuesday, July 19, 2016.
